Relaxing, resting, recharging, whatever you want to call it, we all need it. Life can get crazy busy and, before you know it, it’s been weeks since you’ve done something just for you! Resting can look different for everyone and comes in many different facets. Sometimes it’s nice to treat yourself to your favorite dinner, a new clothing item, or a coveted video game, but other times, you need something to do or enjoy that’s 100% free. 

Coming up with new and enjoyable things to do for free can be difficult sometimes, so we put together a list for you to reference or spark inspiration from! 


  1. Watch a new movie (with your phone in the other room!)
  2. Take a bubble bath & read a good book
  3. Paint your nails
  4. Call a friend you haven’t caught up with in a while
  5. Follow a Youtube Yoga video 
  6. Go on a neighborhood walk
  7. Drive to a lookout for sunset
  8. Have a picnic in a park 
  9. Make your favorite sweet snack
  10. Redecorate a part of your house just the way you want it
  11. Write a letter to a relative 
  12. Clean up your phone’s camera roll (and make an album with your favorite pictures)
  13. Play a video game 
  14. Do a puzzle 
  15. Journal 
  16. Plan a dream trip for the future
  17. Work out (might not be relaxing per say, but it’ll make you feel better!)
  18. Declutter 5 areas (doesn’t matter how big or small) 
  19. Take a nap 
  20. Sit in the sunshine and take time to be still
